ऐसा कहा जाता है कि वृंदावन शहर त्योहार की वास्तविक तारीख से 7-10 दिन पहले जन्माष्टमी मनाता है। यह शहर के विभिन्न स्थानों पर विभिन्न नाटकों और रासलेला को व्यवस्थित करके किया जाता है। पेशेवर कलाकार भगवान कृष्ण के जीवन के विभिन्न एपिसोड को अधिनियमित करते हैं। ये नाटकों भक्तों के विशाल दराज हैं।
वृंदावन में मुख्य मंदिरों में समारोह
यद्यपि वृंदावन में लगभग 5000 मंदिर हैं। मुख्य मंदिर बंके बिहारी मंदिर, रंगनाथजी मंदिर, श्रीकृष्ण बलराम मंदिर, राधाराम मंदिर, इस्कॉन मंदिर आदि हैं। इन मंदिरों में पूरे दिन एक यात्रा कार्यक्रम है, पूरे दिन विभिन्न समारोहों और पूजाओं के लिए निर्धारित समय के साथ। भगवान कृष्ण के अभिषेक (पवित्र स्नान) के दौरान भी भक्त भक्तों के लिए खुले हैं।
